ive had several dvd's automatically play with the captions. "the lookout", "pan's labyrinth" and "hannibal rising" come to mind. do i need to go in and uncheck the captions for each and every movie??
Did you strip the menus from the backups? Some players automatically play the subtitles if the menu isn't present. Just click the subtitle button on the remote when playback begins to cycle through to the no subtitle option. Some foreign films like Pans Labyrinth use subtitles because the words are in a foreign language. If you exclude the subtitles when reauthoring a main title backup, you won't have to deal with them. However you may need them if it's a foreign film and you don't comprehend the language.
