i installed dvdsanta and attempted to make an avi file into a dvd. i selected a certain file (xvid) etc and when i clicked create dvd it came up with an error msg:

this program has performed an error and has to shut down, and further clicking indicated: modname: xvid.ax, so i reinstalled xvid codec and got past that.. now i tried it again and it said: modname: vsfilter.dll so i uninstalled vobsub filter and i tried again and it comes up now with modname: <unknown>

but this movie file is an xvid and when i try it with a divx it works fine no crashes.. is it something to do with either corrupt codecs or codecs colliding? i used gspot to find out this was xvid and the other divx

To put the long story short, you may try the followings:

    1) Download and install K-Lite Codec Pack (full or mega version), then try again.

    2) Use VSO DivxToDVD (free program) for the transcoding

    3) Change the codecs of the avi with Power Video Converter or X Video Converter (leaving XviD as is, and change audio to Mpeg Layer 3)
    Good luck!
