I was wondering if anyone had come into the same trouble I have with DVDX copy. My particular program doesn't work. I don't care how many times I have tried or with any "solution" they gave me. I wrote them earlier on last month to let them know how displeased I was, and what I learned is that I "bothered" them by giving my opinion of their product. Has anyone else encountered this problem with them. I currently have clone dvd2 and am very satisfied!

DVDXCOPY is getting some age on it with no updates for over 3 years now. Stay with CloneDVD and AnyDVD they work pretty well and are updated often. DVDXCOPY can still work with the help of AnyDVD or DVD43 to help with the decryption but Clone is a much better choice.

I agree...I was just wondering if anyone had the bad customer service as I have had with them. I wrote to them and explained that I was satsified to have paid that much money and used it for ONLY 4 dvds...and they got very nasty, and asking me what my problem was. I was just going through cds and throwing away software I didn't use and thought I would write to them. Never expecting them to get rude and nasty, probably assuming I wanted my money back from a 100% guarantee. But that wasn't the case till now!

The original DVDXCOPY (321studios was the owner) has been out of business for a few years now. The new DVDXCOPY international or what ever they are calling them selves now are a bunch of hacks making money on someone else’s software that wasn’t that great to begin with but it was a work in progress. DVDXCOPY was one of the first programs that did the entire process of coping a movie for you from decrypting-shrinking-and writing. It was easy to use and worked part of the time. I am sure if Hollywood wouldn’t have won the lawsuit against 321Studios it would have got better with time just as CloneDVD and others have over the past couple of years. I have dealt with DVDXCOPY of the present and they are not a customer-orientated business all they care about is making a sale and after that you are on your own.

cathy3811 , just forget about dvd x copy and stick with clonedvd 2 + anydvd a much better program and less expensive than x copy. x copy was dead over 2 years ago. let alone now lol!!

I quite like dvdxcopy, people like to be the first to bash it but, I have had no problems with it. Some movies I can't get with Shrink/Decrypter but find dvdxcopy can do it. Not bad as a back up. ???

I wasn't bashing it. I was talking about their poor customer service. I asked for help once before and they stated when they get a fix they will send one. Then about 7 months later he basically told me to get screwed they weren't going to help me get it working and "to leave him alone" were his words.

Hello Ireland, I have a question for you? Why do you list all the different web sites that are as selling cracked software? Is it to keep people from buying it so they will go to sites not on the list that you are affiliated with? I do realize that a couple of sites have made updates to the original DVDXCOPY software like DVDXCOPY 5.0 sold by DVDXCOPY international that I have tried but didn’t really impress me much other than supporting dual-layer and a few other updates. Most of the sites listed are still selling the old DVDXCOPY Platinum 4.0.3.8 that was originally developed by 321studios. 321studios has been out of business for a few years now so in my opinion everyone selling DVDXCOPY is selling cracked software its just a matter if they have a server up and running to activate the software or they sell you an activation patch along with the software. I have used the software both ways, legally that had been activated from 321studios and with software activated from a patch and both worked equally well so what is the big deal. Does someone new actually own the rights to the software other than 321studios that doesn’t exist any longer? Not trying to be difficult I just didn’t realize anyone actually had the rights to the software other than the original owners.

CloneDVD 2 copies movies to create unparalleled picture quality DVD backups, whether it’s the main title you’re copying or the complete DVD. CloneDVD will compress long footage at high speed to the highest of quality using specialised transcoding technology, allowing you to select your audio and language settings and also the final target size. Easy for even the novice user, CloneDVD’s intuitive Filmstrip assistant guides you through all the available configuration settings, allowing you to choose which chapters to include and offering the option to trim individual chapters.

A visual quality bar shows how your configuration choices affect the quality of the final copy. Note that copying protected DVDs also requires AnyDVD.
AnyDVD works in the background to automatically remove the copy protection of a DVD movie as soon as it's inserted into the drive, allowing you then to backup the movie using a DVD backup tool such as CloneDVD and CloneDVD mobile. You can also remove the RPC region code, thereby making the movie region free and viewable on any DVD player and with any DVD player software.

AnyDVD is capable of removing unwanted movie features, including subtitles and prohibition messages such as copyright and FBI warnings. It also allows you to launch an external application whenever you insert or remove a disc, or prevent 'PC-friendly' software from automatically launching when you insert a video DVD.

All you have to do is start up AnyDVD and continue using your normal compression engine, whether it's shrink, recode or CloneDVD, It's that easy.

Oh yes I have those...they are wonderful. I have only had 3 movies that I couldn't back up. It was 3 Tom Hanks movies...weird huh? I can't remember what they are...but I do remember they were all his pictures. Have you had this problem?

And yes I figured I got ripped off...and more so after they blocked my emails. All I wanted to do to start with is let them know that I have a version that no longer works. I wasn't expecting the rudeness I received.

Thanks a bunch for everyones comments.

Yes I have that version. I have registered programs of those. I think they are awesome. Question: I don't need dvd shrink or decrypter with those do I?
