I'm trying to extract an MPEG1 (VCD) stream from a PAL DVD that lasts 2hrs and 50 mins using DVDx. The DVD does not contain macrovision protection.

I'm getting the following error messages:

    auth.dll: Can’t authenticate drive
    Disk may not be locked
    I press OK

Then the nexr error msg appears:

Warning the output and input frame rate are not equal
Pull down [up] will be performed
    I press OK

    Then I press encode.

DIVx gives me about 10 mins worth of MPEG1 file.

    Any help?

    Thanks.

READ THE GUIDE THAT COMES WITH DVDx ... absolutely amazing guide. I have a beginners guide also so if you want, leave me your email addy in a private message and I'll send it to ya/

This isnt an error. It just means... wel.. the disc isnt locked. Meaning (a) there is no protection or (b) you have already ripped the protection

This is a little tricker and requires some playing around. In the Input Settings dialog box you need to set the output framrate to a different value. Potentially you may have toggle the Detect Progressive 245hz and Force 25hz boxes but usually just check the top one and leave the bottom one unchecked. Play around with different values for the output framerate.

On the Output Settings dialog box, click the Button that says WHOLE

DVD ripping is simple yes... but not that simple.

Yes, I would like a copy of the DIVx manual and also your own beginner's guide. But, I how do I send you a priovate msg? That option seems to have disappeared.

    Thanks.
