DVDXCopy now has version 1.3.1. You can download it from www.dvdxcopy.com. See if this helps.

Ok in version 1.2 you need to install the additional drivers that are incuded. OR just update to 1.3.1.

Would anyone care to comment on how they find DVDXCopy generally? How effective is it? How closely does it live up to its advertising claims?

So far it has worked great for me. I have backup at least 10 movies so far. I used the Sony 500 A dvd combo drive on dvd-r media and dvd+r media. This was version 1.2 and 1.3.1

    Eric,

Thanks. It is an interesting discussion. I agree with the bit about the challenge of learning yourself but that's exactly what is happening. Until I read that forum I assumed that one could copy films onto one disk using a DVD burner! Now I know differently!!
