Hey all, just regged on to this fine community, been lurking around alot before ;P Anyhoot, i got the DVP642 player and i just got an XViD movie from my friend who used NERO to burn it, threw it in there and this is what it said

    CODEC. NOT SUPPORTED (QPEL)

It is burned straight into the root of the disk, is there a limit of chars on the disc label? it has 14 chars, or does that matter? the avi file is labeled cd1.avi.
So whats going on? am i missing something or is there something wrong?

anyone with any ideas, please share em with me :)

PS i didnt do any region code hax on this player and it played my EU movies just fine straight from the box.

[bold]EDIT: just got another disc with a 2 char disc label and no go with that one either [/bold]

From what I understand, using q-pel when encoding for playback in stand-alone players is not good since q-pel is not widely supported by stand-alone players. If you have ever encoded with DivX Pro, when you want to use a profile, ie. Home Theatre, you cannot select q-pel and have a valid profile. I hope this helps.
