Can I do this anyone? I have DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink, Works great for ripping and copying DVD's. I now have a 3 hour high school football game my inlaws want on a DVD to watch on their TV. The file is over 9 gigs!! Media Center won't let me burn it. How can I get it loaded to DVD Shrink and then burn it with Decrypter? If I can't do this, can you tell me what to do? Thanks

I recorded it on media center.....the file extension is dvr-ms!! The program media center won't let me put it on a DVD because it is too big, almost 10 gigs. What format do I convert it to to play it on a DVD player on my TV, and how can I do that?? DVD decrypter and DVD shrink read .ISO, so it would be nice to convert to .ISO.
    thanks

you will have to convert it using a program like ConvertXToDVD......This program will convert and burn directly to disk. Keep in mind your file is wayyyyyy too big so you might run into long conversion times and the quaility will be poor since your are cramming a lot into a little...... I suggest trying to burn onto a DL disk. Convert the file to DVD compliant and use a DL disk if your drive can burn to it. Use ImageBurn for this.....download programs here:
    http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/
    http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download

the free version of ConvertXToDVD will leave a watermark logo on the final product .... but you can see if it works......ImageBurn is a free program! Make sure you set the settings on ConvertXToDVD to DVD9 option..... and DO NOT BURN OUTCOME TO DVD...... In ImageBurn use the Build, then Write option.... see how that works for you.

I just have the DVD-R 4.7 gig. DVD's. I think it will still work, but the quality wont' be as good. That is OK with me, it is just a football game. The convertXtoDVD is taking a long time to convert. It has been 45 min. and it is 60% done.
I have looked on media center for awhile now for a setting so the files aren't so large. I don't think there is a way to do it that I know of???? Do any of you know how I can change the setting?
    thanks

    IHoe,
I am trying to burn with the ConvertXToDVD program, and it says I need a dual layer DVD. Will this program burn a regular DVD-R? I can't find it in the settings.
    thanks

DVD5 is what you want! DVD9 is the dual layer....
Don't forget to use good media! follow the MIJ rule (Made in Japan). buy the disks that say MIJ on the label package. Verbatim is the only exception to this rule, it's top notch media and made in Taiwan/Singapore. The next thing you want to do is make it more compatible that it will play on all kinds of DVD players. If your drive and handle Booktyping then I suggest your read this:

    IHoe,
thank you, it worked! The only problem is the audio and video don't match. Maybe it is because it had to shrink so much. Is there a way to correct this?

sorry...... that never happened to me using ConvertXToDVD. I would check over the setting on each tab and use the HELP to get a guide on how to use it.

Hi, I am new to the forum so just bare with me. I too record movies off of the tv with WinXP Media Center. I usely used Nero 7.5 Ultra edition (enchanced)and I don't have any problems with Nero. I record the tv movie for later use and if its a excellent movie, I record it to a DVD. I use Nero Express in the following matter:

1)open Nero express and select Add titles (movie)
2)If its too large of a file (its okay) I'll explain later
    3)Click "Next"
4)Instead of burning too the disc, select burning to ur Hdrive.
5)After its done. Goto ur directory of the newly created .vob files.
6)Compress wtih CloneDVD2 or Nero Record or whatever program you desire.
7)then create an image file (optional)
    8)then burn the disc

I have tried this and it works for me.

when you say compress can I use dvd shrink for this
also typially how large are your files I am trying to do the UFC fight and it is 3 hrs. over 9 gigs is this common.

When I tried to use Nero Express it does not offer me the option to burn to hd just disc. After I add the file and hit ok it brings uo the Fianl Beurn Settings page and offers to burn to my dvd burner and thats it.

what you might try doing is spliting the file and puting it on two disks, also you got to understand because the file that you are converting is so large it will take a while to convert, so you can't rush a good thing. good luck

I apologize in taking long to answer. My computer crashed and i think its okay..I hope. Anyhow, it wasn't nero express, i used nero vision. i recorded 6 episodes of the "Bold and Beautiful" to review later, each episode is 30 min long at or about 1.5Gs. Total approx 8.6Gs. When you used Nero Vision (ur making ur own DVD movies). When you select ur movie (when nero vision is opened), it'll analyze the content and compress it. In this case, my total size was 8.6Gs nero has reduced the movies to 4.0Gs. I guess you can figure what to do next, because the rest is self-explanatory. If not just ask ur questions if you have any more problems.
