Believe it or not, my need for a stand-alone DVD duplicator is not to illegally mass duplicate movies. Currently, when a client requires 20 or more copies of a DVD I send the master off to a company in california to do the duplication, disc/case labeling, and packaging. Now that I've done 2 jobs like that, I see a need for a DVD duplicator and, being the $$ saver I am, I think I could save a little $$ by building one myself. I have searched this thread and the web and have found several types of dvd duplicators. I have not found anywhere that gives instructions on a parts list and how to build one of these machines yourself. Here are the components that I know are needed: Case, powersupply, fans?, dvd duplicator controller/computer, and the burners. If I'm missing anything, let me know and if anyone has any info, experience, or related links, your advice is appreciated. Thanks.
Found some info. Started to put mine together yesterday and will spend about 60% of what I would have paid for a pre-built duplicator. http://www.techbuilder.org/recipes/160700335
Yeah and it has worked great so far. I've burned over 100 discs' so far and haven't had any bad burns. I'll post my specs later.
