    I had a Philips DVD +/- RW that shot craps. I bought a Dynex DVD +/- RW DL. DVD Shrink worked well with the philips and I never had a problem. Now I try to Burn a DVD movie and it will not play on my DVD players. I have always used Memorex DVD+R SS/SL to burn on. Now my DVD players do not see the movie. I look on the DVD and the data is there, it just will not play. Can anyone tell me how to get around this? I now have about 10 DVD coasters. Thanks

    They won't play on what? Is it the dvd-rom drive on your pc or your standalone dvd player? Have you updated the firmware for that new burner? If not, go to the manufacturer's site and dnld latest firmware. What happened to the phillips?

    It plays on my computers but will not play on my DVD players. I have tried it in my Sony, and my Mintek. I have no idea what happened to my philips DVD burner. Just one day it stopped burning DVDs. It burns CDs no problem, but no DVDs. I tried my philips in three differant computers, and it still will not burn DVDs. Is this a DVD Shrink problem, or just a crappy DVD Burner?

    Could be a media problem - Memorex are of very variable quality and made by a variety of manufacturers. They do not have a good reputation as decent media across these forums. Try a search to explore what members think about Memorex - not flattering

    Ok I tried Sony DVD+R and I still get the same results. I can watch the Movie on my computers, but not in my DVD players. It has to be some with my DVD Burner or DVD Shrink. Like I said, my burner in a Dynex DVD+/-RW DL. I am thinking is has something to due to the fact it is a DL DVD Burner. Any ideas?

    I burn with Nero 6.0 I have tried Lowering the burn speed from 16X to 4X. I have tried making it an ISO with DVD decrypter, and then burn with DVD Shrink. No Matter what I do, I can not get the movies to play on my DVD Players (Sony and Mintek). They play fine on my Computers. This is just something about being that it is a cheap DVD+/-RW DL. I am sure of it now. That is unless I am just not getting or doing something. Think I will buy a differant DVD+/-RW when I can save enough money for one. Any ideas on what a good one might be?

    Memorex is probably part of the problem. Not sure most players are DL-media aware.

    for now, post LAST section of your Nero log, which is in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log, but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.

    plus i'll request the thread be moved to Nero forum.

    Ok I found at Best Buy a Universal BUSlink 4x Internal DVD±RW/±R/CD-RW Drive. Any idea on how this one would work with DVD Shrink?

    @NyCyn -

    - that's prehistoric, latest is 6.6.0.16

    - i think the firmware's up to date

    - yup, Nero is too old to recognise your burner

    - not too bad, but make sure to close down more programs prior to any burning in future

    - you're burning too close to outer edge of discs. Set target size in DVD Shrink's preferences to 4300MB

    - CMC Mag media - what can i say that my signature doesn't!
