EAC+Ape.

    hey i have ripped my cd collection using monkey audio with eac.i need to know what i need to do to take my ape files and convert them to mp3 using eac.is there a command line i need to put?i tried one ape file and it only converted it to a wav. file. thanks

    and why are you ripping into ape ?
    rip into wav first.
    then convert into any format you want

    cause i thought ape.was lossless plus smaller in size.

    it is lossless. and alittle smaller.

    meaning if you decode it back to wav it will be the same 99.99% .
    but if you want to use the mp3 as archive theres no need to use ape. use ape as an archival purpose and wav as the intermediate medium.
    i don't use eac, so i'm not too familiar, i use cdex. i'm not sure if it can do a direct transcode (eac). all i can say is use the wav and encode to mp3s

    well thanks for the reply's anyways ? how is EAC and cdex diffrent?

    coded by different people :)

    i can't really say what, as i don't know. but both does the same job. and good at it
    i think there is a test betwwen the 2. if i remember right results were a mixed bag, scratched cd will never be the same 100%
