Hey! Im new to this forum and ive searched after an answer to my problem but not found one, so hoping someone can relate to my problem and maybe give me an answer to iy. I downloaded and installed EAC and Lame, followed the guides and set it up just as they say and then tried to rip/encode a CD. The result was small mp3 files with no sound at all, its not low, just nonexisting. Wondering if someone could give me answer to why this is happening, tried 3 different CDs, none worked. I cant even play the CDs in EAC, nor can I rip them to wav. Appreciate any help /Nietzche
To review, music on CD is Redbook Audio Standard PulseCode Modulated (PCM) 16 bit samples @ 44.1kHz. This, when ripped to your hard disk, is a WAV file. Now, you could take this wave file and compress it to OGG or whatever, or to MP3 using LAME codec. It doesn't work the other way too well; you cannot get a good WAV from MP3. I don't use EAC but it might be trying to do it 'on the fly'. You might try first getting the wave files onto your HD, then listen to them; they should sound just like CD. Then try to compress them to MP3. Keep in mind, that to go from CD to MP3 is really a 2-step process... If you require further options: http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/ Regards
