I was curious if it was possible to cut off the headphones and use the plug with the cord to connect to big speakers and plug them into a device; such as a radio, mp3 player etc. I have tried it but it doesn't seem to work, I wonder if anyone knows if this is possible. If so, how do you do it? Cause I have no idea how?
No, that would not work. The speakers would need an amplifier, like a stereo or surround receiver. Also speaker wire will have too leads, one + and one -. To connect two speakers to a headphone jack you would only be able to connect one of the wires (the + or - would be hanging, and it wouldn't work). You would need a headphone splitter and two cut headphone wires, one for each speaker. Then you would need an amplifier. Most amps have the proper speaker connections already so the point above is pretty much moot. Sorry! (edited for grammar)
Okay, thank-you for destroying my bubble. Now I must pursue another aim until someone nukes that. Thanks for clearing that up, Cheers!
No problem, sorry for the destruction! I tried many things audio-related before, not always successful. Like getting video game surround sound through my 5.1 computer speakers ...grrr wasted hours of my life. Thrift stores often have amps like the one I mentioned for like $10, also check garage sales. Just because they're from the 70s and 80s doesn't mean they suck!!!
well if u read this u can buy a wire that conects your mp3 or cd player to any thing with a left and right audio <u know red and white> I have done it be fore proud owner of 25 speakers= 7500watts all hooked up to my computer u do need amplifiers though
