Been using "Shrink & Burn 2" to burn my downloaded movies to CD (vcd) so I can watch on big screen, works great, love this program, only one I've found that makes it easy for a beginner to do! But there's one type that it won't accept, which is xvid with AC3 audio! It works fine with xvids with mpeg audio, just wondering if there's anyone that knows of an easy way to fix this issue, if so, then thank you very much! Mike.
BeSweet or HeadAC3he. Set it to 224k mp2 audio and to downsample to 44.1KHz. You then have yourself VCD compliant audio. Sounds like you wanted audio, to re-encode with this app though. For that I would suggest PCM rather than mp3 since mp3 is lossy. Installing AC3ACM may allow the app to convert AC3 though.
Thanks for the advice but I already found a fix. Tried AC3ACM, didn't work, but, found a thread elsewhere that gave step by step instructions using virtualdubmod, that actually really did make it quite simple, and now my "Shrink & Burn 2" accepts it! Here it is if anyone else reading this has the same problem (it really is VERY easy): 1. download & install "virtualdubmod", then run it 2. open the video file 3. under "video" select "direct stream copy" 4. under "streams" select "stream list" 5. right-click the little info box that pops up in the new window, and click "full processing mode" 6. then right click it again and click "compression" 7. in the left column, select "mpeg layer-3" 8. then under "file" click "save as avi", and that's it! It labels the audio as pcm after it's done, I don't even know what that stands for, I just know "Shrink & Burn" will now accept it, and now I can shrink & burn all those pesky xvids with AC3 that I've collected, burn them to CD and watch them on my big screen! __________________
