Hi, I'm new to the DVD copying scene, and would like to know how to use DVD Decrypter and Shrink together to rip, and compress a DVD??...With Decrypter, what mode do you rip the dvd in (file, ifo, or iso)??...then how do you open it in dvd shrink to compress it?...any help or explainations would be great...thanx

why you wanna use dvd decrypter too...???
you can only use shrink and compress(if needed) the movie just then and store it right to your disk and then write it on a dvd of-course.... :p

I too was curious about this. I was trying to rip a disk that Shrink would not do, so I thought i would try to use Decrypter followed by shrink. Do you follow the decrypter guide just as you would for a dvd5, ie change to ISO read? Then import ISO file to shrink and compress as you wish? Sorry if I am missing something in these guides regarding the transition from decrypter to shrink.

    littlb,
No, if you need to use Decrypter before applying Shrink (if, for instance, Shrink will not rip the movie for some reason) you have do so in either file or IFO mode. (Shrink will not be able to access an ISO file.)

If you are planning to make a movie only backup, use "IFO mode" and choose the longest section listed.

If, on the other hand, you are planning to do a full-disk backup (including menues and extra features) you should use "file mode" and copy all of the listed files to your hard drive.

After this, use Shrink's "Open File" option to open the decrypted files on your hard drive and shrink them.
