I have a SUP subtitle file that will open in SubtitleCreator, but will not save from SubtitleCreator. Is there another program that will edit SUP files?
I could save edited .sup files OK using Subtitle Creator, but I could never resolve the colour problems with the subs. If only a few subpics are to be changed, you could use DVDSubEdit. What you do is select the video frame that the sub appears on and save it as a .bmp file. Edit the .bmp and replace the existing text with the new text. You have to match the font and size as closely as possible - but it's hardly noticeable as the movie plays. Reload the new .bmp and drag text to correct screen location. My original notes: File > Open Full Domain (the first VOB) Select the subpic stream (top right) Select individual subpic using the slider under the display window. File > Save current subpic as bitmap. Keep DVDSubEDit open Open and edit bitmap in MS Paint and save as new bitmap File > Replace current subpic with .BMP file Adjust subpic location on screen Edit > Apply last modifications. Repeat for subsequent subpics. Test subs using player. When saving the final changes, there is no undoing them. File > Save all modifications The black screen becomes transparent when reloaded in DVDSubEdit. This is what the new subpic looks like.
The colour fixing is the only reason I use the program (2.3 does not work for this, but 2.2 does fine). I remuxed the subtitle file with a long video file and re-split. The new file worked just fine.
