Hi peeps, Is there any software that can cut segments out from a DVD in milliseconds, so you can start and finish at the exact frames you want to? I've tried TMPGEnc but that doesn't let you edit at EXACT points. For my DVD-R I imported in TMPGEnc, I'm only allowed to edit at these points (as an example): 00:00:00:00 00:00:00:14 00:00:01:01 00:00:01:13 00:00:02:00 Whereas I want to edit at these sort of points (as an example): 00:00:00:00 00:00:00:01 00:00:00:02 00:00:00:03 00:00:00:04 Is their software that will allow me to edit at these sort of times?
Not really without re-encoding. MPEG video cutters (meaning editors that don't re-encode)usually only allow cutting on I-frames, due to the statistical nature of MPEG2 video streams. If you must edit on a frame that turns out to be a P-frame or B-frame, then I would use an editor like Premiere and then re-encode to MPEG2 again using the CCE plugin. I would have thought that TMPGEnc would have allowed you to edit to the frame tho. But it's been a while since I used TMPGEnc... Rgds, jnihil.
