i have a movie that i came across with Japanese text on the main menu (play movie, select scenes, etc)

is there any program out there that can let me get to that main menu and change the text to be English?

I think DVD-Lab Pro will do it. You basically load your vobs, open the VTS menu and edit the text. You may have to re-link buttons to go to appropriate part of DVD. There may be a much easier way, but that's all I can come up with. Hope it helps

AFAIK, the menu is either a still image or a movie.
To change the text means getting a .bmp of the menu and changing it in a paint program - the still is then muxed back into the DVD (in effect a new DVD is created).
If the menu is a non-motion still, scroll down the link to "The Easy Way".

This shows the original English menu with some text added.
