I think I bought a v1.0 eeprom for a v1.1 xbox and it's not working... let me explain. ok, first I back up the eeprom on the xbox (of course) then I use configmagic to load the new eeprom (all successful) ok then I take the modchip out reboot the xbox and the green blubber comes up like normal, shows the xbox symbol, then "Microsoft" pops up at the bottom of the screen. then all of a sudden the screen blinks the xbox logo comes back. "Microsoft" is gone.... then "Microsoft" shows up... and then blinks again... it does this over and over and over again. DVD region and all that stuff is right because I went through tutorials to fix that. K but now what I did was installed the chip back in it, used eeprom restore (original) and then load the ms dash board and it runs fine.... game and all, shows memory, xbox live tabs and even my game saves without ANY problems. What do I do to fix this?? or what do I do to change the version to 1.1? do I need the new drive hooked up to the PC to change the eeprom??? (when I opened LiveInfo, it also asks for HDD info)?????????????
