ok, i got this scooter off a friend of mine for really cheep, but of course, its batteries are shot. it uses two 12volt batteries (24v total) in a series. the charger for it says its rated for 20-29.5volts @ 2amps. my first question is, how can the charger output a range of voltages? my second question is, could I hook a car battery up to a scooter? they are 12.6 volts, not 24v, as used in this scooter. what would happen if i used that same charger rated for 20-29.5 volts to charge a 12.6v battery? would it mess up the scooter (the charger hooks up to the scooter, and the scooter hooks up to the battery)? would using a 12.6v (or any lower voltage than rated, for that matter) battery burn out the electric motor? and if you CANT use the charger with a car battery battery, would I be able to hook it up with one of the existing scooter batteries to make a it 24.6v (12v scooter battery + 12.6 volt car battery)? also, if you use a battery with a, say, 36volt rating, would it burn out the motor? does a higher voltage make the motor run faster? i know higher amps make it run for a longer period of time. I know they are alot of questions, and not all necessary to get the scooter running, but im curious too. Thanks!
oh, so then a car battery + a scooter battery will be the exact same voltage? and will using a car battery burn out the motor somehow? and what about the other questions? thanks
Ugh, I'm too tired to fix what I originaly wrote. Just google about stepping up voltages you'll be fine.

no it will not burn out ye scooter....... get two 12v deep dis-charge batt and hook then up in series..=24v like the ones used in fishing trolling motors.. they cost more but ye will get more use out of them.and you charger will work on them.......
