There's so much good info on this board thanks to everyones input. Now.....this may be a dumb question but I just bought this Emerson EWR20V5 & got it all hooked up. I have a 31" Panasonic TV with Comcast cable (no cable box. 1. I've tried to pre-set the VCR to tape a program. I set it to channel 5 (NBC)... I left the recorder on like I think the book said, and then pushed the tv/video button to watch something else on a different channel. Lo and behold it taped, but not the channel I set it for, it taped Lifetime ( I'm very confused as to how this happened ). This Emerson seems very complicated. I feel like I need to have the tv remote in one hand and the vcr remote in the other just to set a time for taping. My old vcr died the other day & it was a piece of cake. Am I doing something wrong?
I dont know why you were taping too vhs when you have a dvd recorder they are way better quality plus look at my thread. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/235603#1712031 this will help I have had this unit since it came out.
