I do audio mastering and use Wavelab to burn red-book compatible cd's. In order to assure quality before shipping to the plant, i'd like to 'burn to hard-disk' (a thing that wavelab does not provide), then convert the resulting .iso into a .ddp file (disk deskription protocol: profesional format, accepted by all production plants). For the iso to ddp conversion I already have a professional software (gear pro mastering ed.)

    [bold]Therefore I in need a CD-R drive-emulation (winXP)[/bold], that would link seamlessliy into the system and apear as a virtual cd-r drive (note: i don't need a virtual cd-rom, got deamon-tools already).
Is there something out there, that would provide such functionality?

    Thank in advance

If I understand you correctly, you are looking to something to make the ISO file for you to convert to DDP? In that case, most generic burnign applications come with that functionality. I would reeccomend Nero and CDRWIN as both have the functionality to output image files and are fairly easy to play with

The problem is, that Nero (and other dedicated burning-programs) are by no means as confortable as wavelab for setting track-indexes (PQ-list), that's why I'm stuck to Wavelab, which cannot burn to iso (see above).

Imagine mastering a live-record with the audience aplauding between every track: In such a case you have to set the track-index [bold]exactly[/bold](or sample accurate) bevore the downbeat of the band's next song. Otherwise switching on your cd-player will result with evey song starting with noise and not music...
(A tedious task, if you want to achieve this with nero)

Why not give Daemon Tools v3.46 a try,I use it to mount all my iso to check there integrity.

Please disregard the above post.(I should read the post fully. Sorry)
