Hi, I am trying to get my microphone port the play the audio input from my xbox 360. I can record the sound and play it, however I am at a loss for enabling input monitoring under windows vista ultimate. I found a reg key to modify but that is only on dell computers. Does anyone know how to enable input monitoring, because there does not appear to be an option in the sound menu of the control panel. any help not related to dell computers would help. thanks

The MICROPHONE PORT!!?? that will be seriously overloaded and may damage your 360 as well depending on the way the socket is configured. You need to use the line in (1v-600 ohms rms) and then some program like windows sound recorder or dbpoweramp will capture from those ports.. The sound mixer will have a line in switch and level controls. This is standard.. input to the line in will play from the line out port for monitoring.

Maybe your sound driver needs updating..
