Whenever I try to encode a movie to vcd using tmpgenc i get this error saying:

"Write error occured at address 77F8336F of module 'ntdll.dll' with 00000000"

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Let me Guess ,The File is an XViD File??? Correct?? This error is cause from a Incompatibility between the XviD codec and Tmpgenc...The 2 things you can try is to First Install the "FFDshow Decoder" and configure it to decode XviD files..and if that doesn"t help I would useing something like Virtual Dub to Frame serve the file to Tmpgenc, that will allmost allways work unless there is something wrong with the file...If you don"t know how to frameserve let me Know and I"ll try to explain it....Cheers

    The ffdshow didn't work.

Can you help me with frame serving? What program do I use? How do I use it? Is there gonna be any audio/video sync problems?

    Thanks!

Actually it is Pretty Easy, You can use "Virtual Dub" for this...Go into the Virtual Dub folder and you will see a File called "Auxsetup.exe" so Run this File, when the Window Pops up click "Install Handler" then click "OK" and clise the Auxsetup.exe dialog...Now run Virtual Dub and Load your AVI file into Virtual Dub and Make sure V-Dub can read the whole file, Now Just go to "File" to "Start Frame server" and a Little Window will pop up , Now in that window click the "Start" button, Now you just give the Frame server file a Name with a ".vdr" extention Like "File-Name.vdr" and save it to your desktop...Now you Run Tmpgenc and Load the Frame server file into it and encode like normal...If you get an "Can not open or Unsupported "message when trying to load the VDR File into Tmpgenc then you just need to go to "Options" to Enviromental Settings" to "Vfapi Plugins" and Disable the "Direct Show File reader" Now the VDR file should load in like normal and you can just encode like normal...This should work no problem if you do it right and it is pretty easy if you follow these directions....Cheers

For Xvid and TMPGEnc compatibility issues, I just use the FourCC Changer that comes with the Xvid program to change the file to DivX. TMPGEnc then accepts it (sometimes using FFDShow works for me, but not always; the FourCC Changer has always worked).
Remember, especially with Xvid file audio, the audio is often not accepted and has to be changed from mp3 or ac3 to wav for TMMPGEnc to accept it. I use VirtualDub to convert mp3 and VirtualDub + Headac3he to convert ac3.

downloaded all that stuff minion mentioned, still got the audio error. tried the frame server, wouldnt make any frames. searched for this fourcc program and downloaded it, but now i dont know what to set it at to covert or what. lol gotta love it. im now in the process of deleting all of my avi xvid files off of my computer theyve been taking up too much space for too long while ive been trying to work the time in to learn how to actually convert these to vcd. time is something i dont have a lot of these days, so looks like theyre going in my recycle bin. this just isnt worth the time screwing with and reading and keeping up with all the changes i dont think honestly._X_X_X_X_X_[small]http://mjtelecom.netfirms.com[/small]
