I have an episodic dvd with 10 episodes on it. When i open the folder rather than seeing 10 small vob files i see a few large 0.99gb vob files.

Basically i want to do the menus again for the dvd for the episodes. When I add the vob files to dvd lab pro i am unable to seperate each episode.

How can I extract/sepereate individual episodes into single vob files when they are merged together into larger vob files.

    Thanks in advance

Have DVDLab demux and join when prompted.
Load up the demuxed file into an editor.
Cut where you want, into separate episodes.
Load them back into DVDLab, and reauthor.

You can use VOBEdit (freeware) to demux your files. I like this program, because it will automatically join all vob files of a VTS into 1 large m2v and ac3 file. Basically open vts_01_1.vob with VOBEdit. Check the three boxes on the second section, but not the split vob_ID one. After a few minutes, you will have 1 large video file and 1 large audio file. If you have subs you will have a .sup file as well. In order to bring that back into DVDlab, you will need to do some converting, or just use some tool like subripper to extract them from your DVD into .srt format.

After you demux your files you can then import them into DVDlab pro. Bring your files into movie1. Since you will only have 1 video and 1 audio file, you only need to use movie1. Your menus are located in vts_01_0.vob, but I do not know how to remake a menu from the vob files. They will be combined into 1 vob file and there will need to be certain commands to access all parts of your menu. You might as well just remake your menus.

After loading your movie into DVDlab pro, find your chapter points at the beggining of each episode. There are two ways to add chapters. You can drag the slider in the thumbnail window (the part where your drag your video file) and then when you want a chapter, click on the "+". This will set your first chapter. Repeat until you have all of your episodes. The second way is to use the preview window in the bottom right. After you get to a point neer the chapter, use the next or previous I-frame buttons until you find your episode split points. THen click on the "add chapter point" button.

After this is finished, create your main menu. Have a play all button and a scene selection button. Before you make your links, go to menu=>scene selection menu=>thumbnail scene selection. Choose your layout then press OK. This will automaticvaly create a scene selection menu with thumbails from your chapter points. After you do this, open your main menu (menu1) and add your links. Make the play all link point to movie 1 (movie start) and the scene selection point to your first scene selection menu.

After compile your movie. Check your movie playback using IFOEdit (freeware). Open video_ts.ifo and then click DVD play. This will simulate actual DVD play on a DVD player. It will also tell you if there are any errors (ignore the video label error). Play the movie and test all your chapter skips, menu buttons and playback. After you are finished, you can burn your movie. That is where you can add your label.
