Hi all, My epson C46 printer has packed up on me tonight. ive only had it 5 months, brought it when my C44UX packed up with the same problem. Epson status monitor tells me :- 'Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life. consult your printer documentation.' got this warning just after i changed the colour ink cartridge tonight. ive noticed just latetly ive had to clean the heads more than usual, cos the print has gone crap (white lines in between the image, picture coming out all green or pink etc.) I dont use 'genuine epson cartridges' as 'the man' reccomends, i use a brand called Spectrum which i have had good results with up until recently, simply because its about a quarter of the price of epson ink. all i want to know is do i have i fcuked the printers up using non-genuine ink or are they just crap printers? oh, & i dont print that much anyway, just a few CD/DVD covers, a bit of Word stuff & the kids sometimes use it to print cheats out for there games consoles.. any help appreciated.
& probably tell you that is what you get for not using epson ink cartidges. IF you get a new printer, get 1 with individual tanks for each color
I looked into getting a R200/R300 last time when the C44 broke, but I am limited on space with my computer setup. the place where the printer goes is not wide enough for an R-series printer or even the C66/C86. do you reckon i should get a new computer desk so i can get a better (ie, 6 colour) printer? or can i get the C46 serviced or something to get it going again?
