Can anyone tell me why when I erase a dvd-rw and rewrite on it the second writing plays like crap.the picture gets digital blocks and then freezes.I have tried a quick erase and a deep erase but it does the same thing.
Are you using good quality media? Are you using a standalone DVD recorder or a DVD burner in a computer?
laddyboy:I am using an internal burner.I have tried Imation Dvd+rw's and also Tdk Dvd+rw's.I have used nero to erase and i have let dvd decrypter do it for me also but both seem to do the same thing.I have two internal dvd roms.Should I try the other dvd rom and see if that will make a difference
It's worth a try to see if the disk is hard to read or if the same thing occurs. I've never encountered this with RW media until the media has been reused many times. Use DVDIdentifier to see who the actual manufacturer of the media is. http://dvdidentifier.cdfreaks.com Also see if you can rip the burned RW disk to your HDD with DVD Decrypter. If the burn is bad, DVD D should choke along the way. http://www.filehippo.com/download_dvd_decrypter/ You could also use Nero CD/DVD Speed or DVDInfoPro to assess the burn quality. http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Info_Tool.html I think it could be either the media or the burner causing the problem.
