I have Sony DW-U10A and have burnt a file using latest version of Nero. I'm trying to erase this file but keep coming with error messages - i.e. this is a read only disc. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I feel a bit of a muppet!

    Thanks in advance

Are you doing a FULL ERASE in Nero?

And what RW disc is it ... a cheapy ?

Had 1 out of a spindle of 10 DataSafe Media DVD-RW (£9:99 for 10) that failed to FULL-ERASE (it's still sitting on my shelf awaiting attention/investigation)
I've got 1 Mirror DVD-RW and this behaves impecably (£2 each)

Yes I was using Mirror ones too - and verbatim. Tried doing full and quick erase in nero and error still occured. Tried doing erase CD-RW thru win xp and it appeared to remove the files although I still cannot write to the media!!!???

The only time I've had erase problem in Nero ... I uninstalled & re-installed and all worked fine after that.
I have a Mirror DVD-RW here which needs a full erase (it'll be the 1st time on that media).
I'll post back soon when I've done it/had a go
