I have brought a new 80 gb hdd which has a soft modded dash on it but i keep getting an error 5. do i have to get a chip? or is there a way round it with a boot disk? or anything?
error 5 i believei is the hd is locked but even then you will need a modchip to unlock it unless you have the eeprom for it.....
i managed to fiddle with it and it's changed from error 5 to error 7. the jumper on the back of hard drive was in the wrong place. Doh!! gonna check connections and try a new IDE cable i think.
