Hello All Here is my problem. My boss gave me his old Xbox that has been "modded". I have not a clue what mod, only that it is not a chip. When booting up, the hard drive makes a sound as if it cannot fully spin around and then I get the 07 error code. I reseated all the cables to no avail. I have been trying to figure out what my next step would be, since it is most likely a HDD failure. How can I format a new HDD to work, or is there something else I might want to check into? Essentially my endgame is to have it softmodded to play backups and possibly boot from the HDD as I have a 120gb drive lying around. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Jeff P.S. - I am fairly familiar with modding (i.e. 360, Wii, Ds, PSP) just not with the original Xbox
