I recently loaded my free upgrade of DVDXcopyxpress and recieved my new license number for activation. I used the program with no problem a few times and then it came up with a 1229 error and would not load. The website tells me you get this error when you try and run the program without the correct activation. I was sent a code originally but now when I reload the program it doesn't ask me to put it in like the first time. Bottom line is that I can't get the program to load. Using w2k, os. Can anyone tell me how to fix this .

after uninstalling xpress you can do a risky search in your registry

go to start, run, type in regedit
in regedit go to edit-> find type in dvdxpress or 321 studios or various things

before you do this you should make a backup of your registry, you can find out at windows website under knowledge base.

after finding the reg files delete them because now all previous recognition of the software is gone and then reboot and try reinstalling xpress and activating it

    reply if this helped

Thanks for replying, I tried all my tricks, I went into the system registry and tried removing whatever I found and it did not work. Finally I formatted my computer reloaded the program and it worked. I am hoping 321 can tell me what was in the registry that retained my settings. It would have been so much easier if I knew what I was looking for. Thanks again for the response. If you ever find out please let me know.

no problem reformatting is always an option but it can be painful
