error 13

I keep getting error 13 when I turn on my xbox. I tried to put a new skin on my evox dashboard and this code came up. So I put in a boot-disc that I made to try to ftp the skin out but, every time I look in my C drive there is nothing in it. It also wont let me transfer any file to or from the C drive. I have my dashboard files on my computer HDD but I cant transfer them in to my C drive. Can sombody tell me what to do please.

13 - kernel - Dashboard launch fail (due to missing/bad key, or anything else that would prevent it from running) and the dashboard didn't specify why it failed.

The error it gives is because of the incompatibility between the (older) dashboard (4920) that older slayer cd installs and the new dashboard/kernel versions found in some new xbox's and found in xbox's that have been connected to xbox live (when you go on xbox-live, it'll upgrade your dashboard file to i believe it is now 5659.03. This dasboard is incompatible with the dash that (old) slayer cd installs (for example 2.5 or lower) for you.

To update your dashboard, you can use any newer (post-Halo 2) retail Xbox LIVE game. You don't have to have Xbox LIVE, you don't have to have an internet connection, and you don't even have to have a network cable plugged into the Xbox. Just load up Halo 2 or any game made after that, select Xbox LIVE, and it will proceed to upgrade your Xbox dashboard.

hey i have the same problem but i cant even go to a dash board the only thing i can do is play games and it wont let me go on xbl anymore wht do i do and is it possible to get my reguler dashboard bck so i can actually follow the sofmodding directions

 

if u wanna go back 2 ur normal dash go 2 file explorer drive E then back up the it sould say MS then choose msdash.xbe

if u wanna uninstall ur soft mods go 2 the mod screen by using the game u used 2 soft mod with and the linux files then uninstall soft modds

or use aid 3.0
