Error 6 means cannot unlock hard drive...

Was his hard drive locked when you got it from your friend?

So you took a factory hard drive from your friends xbox and put it in your modded sytem?

You cannot do that unless you unlocked the factory drive in your friends system... You see these hard drives are locked or 'married' to the system they originally come in and they are useless if you take them out of the system without unlocking it..

The only way the drive can be used in other systems or a PC is if its unlocked on its original xbox...

dude read what i am saying please.

As far as I can understand, you have taken a Factory hard drive from your FRIENDS non modded system. You've put this into your modded system and tried to unlock it.... This is NOT GOING to work. The only way you can do this is if you unlock the hard rive (from your friends box) in his XBOX before you try to put this in yours... so if you have a solderless chip use it temporarily in his system... unlock the hard drive in question... take out the mod put it back in your system and then put the unlocked hard drive in your xbox... then you can lock this or unlock this to your system.

This is the only way you can do this.

Well make sure the hard drive your trying to unlock is in its original system and you will have no troubles unlocking it... unless you reflashed the eeprom on that box with a new code then you may have some troubles..
