All I can offer, is that the consensus seems to be that if you are using DL disks, your best choice is Verbatim brand - and they should be burned using ImgBurn.

I tried ImgBurn and it was exactly the same. It wouldn't play. I used the conversion I made of the movie (avi) file using Nero Vision to change file to DVD image to burn. I couldn't figure out how to convert avi file using ImgBurn. This is getting expensive as the movie is 2.5 hours long and I'm using 8.5 GB discs. The first movie I burned was 722 MB avi and I used a 4.7 GB disc and it works.I'm doing everything the same way so I don't understand why it's not working.

ImgBurn is a burning program - no video conversions.
If you can't get a resolution from Afterdawn, you can try the ImgBurn Forum.

Lightning UK!, who wrote ImgBurn, often responds on the Forum.
Consider posting the Imgburn log there.

The main screen of ImgBurn has a box for 'Test Mode' - you insert the disk, but no actual burning takes place - saves disks until resolved.
