Hi, When I try to open an XviD-movie in VirtualDubMod I get the following error : "VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as one used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable." I searched the forum and they all say I need to install the correct codec, but I do have the correct one because I can play the movie. I also tried Avicodec to find out which ones I have and which I have installed. They are all there Maybe there is a solution for this before I start to install more codec (and taking the risk nothing will work...) thanks, Frites
You should install the latest Xvid codec. Get current Koepi's binary here: http://www.roeder.goe.net/~koepi/xvid.shtml
Yes frites, they just said that the codec that plays the movie is no good - VDub wants the codec that could MAKE the movie. Koepi's your guy.
Thanks!!! I uninstalled the previous codec and installed the new one. It works fine now.... Regards, Frites
