I keep getting an error message. I am using Phoenix 2.5, my gamecube and computer are both connected to my router using ethernet cables. Here are the steps I have been taking: 1) boot up Phoenix 2.5 2) type the name of the game i want to rip 3) click "begin" 4) boot up pso 5) choose an online game, select my profile, choose random serial number and password 6) continue to a screen with flashing colors 7)then I get this error message: (No.101) Atempt to connect to the server has failed. It is possible that the server is undergoing maintenance. The line will be disconnected. PRESS START." Can somebody please help me? Here is a screenshot of what is going on on my computer. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/Milkrosoft/Error.jpg
You've made sure your PSO is configured properly? If you're having to do the serial/key thing each time, that means you haven't properly configured it and had it send the confirmation file to the memory card that locks the information down. Make sure to set your router IP to use the 192.168.1.* address range, and set your PC to have an IP of 192.168.1.100(this can often be done by disabling DHCP and creating a static IP address on your router for your PC), then do much the same for your GC and run Phoenix, allowing it to spoof a successful connection to the server which will save the serial and key to your memory card. After you do that, it at least shows that your network is configured properly to open up a streaming channel between your PC and your GC. From there, you'll be able to stream. If you can't get the first part done, you won't be able to connect your GC to your PC, which means you won't be able to stream anything, in either direction.
I am pretty sure I configured my PSO settings correctly. I went to Network Connections and edited my local area connection with the IP: 192.168.1.100 and subnet mask to 255.255.255.0. "Make sure to set your router IP to use the 192.168.1.* address range." I don't think I did this. I am not entirely sure what this means or how to do it. Could you please explain this a little more in-depth? I'm using a Belkin F5D5230-4 router if that helps at all.
also make sure you do not have the gold or special edition of pso or the connection will fail all the time
That could be a problem. I have a game called "Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II Plus" with a box that looks like this http://www.gamegossip.com/images/games/p_sop/01.jpg Is this the wrong game?
In a word: Yes. PSO+ was released more or less specifically as a patch measure to fix all the major headache bugs in PSO, as well as to seal up the streaming hole. Try to find yourself a regular version of PSO E1&2, if you want to stream. Or break down and go for a mod chip and some Ritek mini-DVDR
Can somebody tell me the UPC of the version that allows streaming? I'm searching ebay and see one with a UPC code "010086610215". Will that version work?
It's easy. If you can see a screenshot of the box, just make sure it isn't PSO Plus. Only the original PSO E1&2 will work. And yes, that UPC matches the one on my copy, so I'd guess that's the right one.
