If you need to backup a SecurROM game, note that (the more recent games especially) are quite hardware dependent and for the best chance at being able to backup such games effectively, you need a 2-sheep burner (for more information on this 2-sheep 'rating' and if your burner qualifies, visit http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/45121 ). Some guides have been prepared to help you backup your SecureROM games: (using Alcohol120) http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/43802 (using CloneCD) http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/26771 .... also, a favorite and highly effective tool is to use an application called BlindWrite (available at http://www.cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_applications/blindwrite_suite.cfm )

Thanks 4 ur promt reply Praetor!

Sorry M8 ive also tried with b/write but seem 2 get the same message (bold)"Wrong disc Inserted please insert the original UT2004 play disc into your cd/dvd drive". (/bold) I presume i have a 2 sheep burner as i ran one of those test, and i have done a copy of Flight simulator 2004 which was safe disc 2. And on both occasions i got the results i wanted. I also get the same result when i try 2 start the game in Deamon virtual drive could it b that i have a damaged image file.or is there some other tool i could use ur feed back would b top bollocks cheers!

Maybe using 'emultion' in Alcohol 120%, then keeping it hidden on the system tray might be of some help?
Just press 'emulation' at the center of the left column and check amost all boxes. Then try using the CD. Unless a serial key must be given and, only a crack, in this case, will help you.

Dont give up! UT2004 is a pain in the arse to backup.

    2-Sheep
When talking about backing up games and such there's a lot of talk burners capable of correctly performing EFM (eight-fourteen modulation) are designated as 2-sheep burners. Burners that can almost perform correct EFM are designated as 1-sheep burners. Last on the totem pole, 0-sheep burners cant perform EFM properly at all. For a partial list of 2-sheep burners, visit http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/45121

    That's the spirit!

The trial version for BlindWrite5 might be worth a try. BW5 is very good at SecuRom :)

Ya the new SecurROM is a real pain -- I've managed to make a backup but it costed me a long time and effort :)
