Alright, I upgraded my Nero, ran roxio zap, lessened the burning speed to 4x, and closed all my programs when running the burner. As for the firmware, the 1.04 firmware seems to apply only to Sony VAIO laptops. The 1.03 won't work, and the 1.02 is what I have now. I downloaded 1.04, but it says that this is the F/W Loader for VAIO UJ-840 (and I have a Toshiba M45-165 Laptop.) I have no programs running, and it asked me to open the disk drive, and I did. After that, it says that F/W Loader does not apply to the DVD/CD-RW drive that you are using. Press exit to continue. Then I exit.
