Whenever I try and backup a movie with Sonic I get this error. Sense: 03 ASC: 73 ASCQ: 03 (Command 2A) ------------------------------------------------------- px.dll: 2.6.61.500 pxdrv.dll: 1.1.62.0 pxmas.dll: 2.6.61.500 pxsfs.dll: 2.6.61.500 PxWave.dll: 2.6.61.500 PXWMA.dll: 1.0.0.3 I am using DVD-r x8.
are they copy righted movies with copy protection in it? Then you need to have a program that will take out the copy protection and allow you to copy the movie...... and if you are burning to a DVD5 then you'll need to compress the movie down to size so it will fit on the DVD! Unless you use a DL DVD! soooooo what movie are you tring to back up?
What brand of media are you using, sometimes you will get this error with cheap media. Also, Sonic does not allow you to slow the speed down to accomodate for bad media. Since you are using Sonic I am assuming this is an iso file, have you tried burning it with another program to see if it will work, such as DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn?
I installed any DVD. I tried to backup the movie again and got this error. Is there a certain setting I should use on any DVD? Sense: 03 ASC: 0C ASCQ: 08 (Command 2A) ------------------------------------------------------- px.dll: 2.6.61.500 pxdrv.dll: 1.1.62.0 pxmas.dll: 2.6.61.500 pxsfs.dll: 2.6.61.500 PxWave.dll: 2.6.61.500 PXWMA.dll: 1.0.0.3
You are getting some kind of medium error, what brand of media are you using, how fast are you burning and is the firmware on you burner up to date?
I am using a brand called Playo. I am not sure how to tell what speed. I think it is 4x. How do I update the firmware? Thanks for your help. I feel like a bonehead. Rachel
Playo media is not very good, I suggest you try something better like Sony, Verbatim, Maxell or Fuji. Your burn speed is fine at 4x. Do you have DVD Decrypter because you can check your fw with that program by going into the Tools tab, then drive and capabilities. If not dl a program called DVDINFOPro and this will give you the current firmware on the burner. Go to this site and type in DVDINFOPro and dl the free prog http://www.filepedia.com/search/ Then once you find out the make/model and fw of the burner go to this site and check out what is current. http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php
I downloaded dvd info but the program to check the fw link was bad. I will try some new media. It was fine until I opened this new package. Thanks, Rachel
