Error with Film Machine

Ive been using The Film Machine to make dvds of avis but lately I have been getting an error when it goes to burn after encoding. I have had to use Nero to burn the vobs that are created. What is this error if anyone knows?

It used to burn the dvd just fine so I am at a loss.

 

i get exactly the same but it does not effect the files made, i never use TFM to burn anyways so for a couple of years i have this error all the time, it is also well known on TFM forums...

i use CCE with tfm the latest CCE, there is a cce version that doesnt give that error, but its no problem for me i like the latest to be used so i live with that box at the very end of all work done, i think of it as a popup letting me know its finished...

 

Well that helps knowing its a common thing anyway. I guess I will stop trying to burn the dvd from within TMC and use Nero like Ive been doing. Funny though that it used to work but maybe that was before I got CCE. Oh well at least I get a good dvd one way or another. Tried using Flick on one the other day and got the usual trash from it and threw the disk away. Only took once to remind me why someone told me to get TM and been using it ever since. Flick makes useless disks and I would be better of just getting it off of here.

 

Thats strange that Nero would give you that error. I havent seen it with Nero just TFM so far. As long as it gives me good VOBs that Nero can burn I wont gripe much but I (along with others Im sure) would sure like to know what error means.

 

i too have had instances of no errors but lately its always...

i let TFM make an ISO and use imgburn to make the disc/burning

also do you use DSROBA? (4 passes of CCE in 1, so to speak)

 

No I havent done the ISO bit but I may try that just for grins. I usually get good VOBs and just let Nero burn them. I just learned something though. If you are trying to make a dvd of 2 avis do not let TFM close or it will kill the 2nd CCE making of a combined file or whatever its called. I dont know what DSROBA is even so I guess I havent used it. I tried to get FLick to make the DVD of these 2 files but as usual got crap for my effort. Flick will not make widescreen and the audio is ALWAYS messed up so into the garbage went that disk and then I uninstalled Flick so it wont get used again. what a joke.

 

dsroba is 3 test passes of cce and 1 real pass = better quailty encode...

TFM shouldnt close by itself ever!

i jion a 2 film avi together before going into TFM with AVI-MUX GUI a free easy to use app

sometimes second avi can sort of have a ms audio delay of a few seconds when in 2 avi parts but its wrong!!!

so tfm will try correct it, so jion them first stops this...

 

well I thought I had an avijoiner somewhere but couldnt find it so I thought I would try this first.and TFM will shut itself off if the right box isnt checked or unchecked or something. anyway this time CCE is doing the 2nd avi so if I get good VOBs I will burn them and see what I get this time around.

 

well I seem to have gotten good VBOs this time from letting TFM join whatever cce created from the 2 avis. If theres a gap in the audio I didnt catch it. CCE sure is slow though. Another thing I found real quick was if you tell CCE to do 4 passes you get 5 so it must refer to additional passes. If I check do not burn dvd then I get no error and just start Nero to burn the VBOs. Seems to work for me anyway. As long as I stay away from those Sony gold RW disks all is well. ALl those things do is make unfixable coasters and I throw them away. TDK and Verbatims work fine. I am trying to get rid of files on the hd to regain the space so am burning stuff off and then deleting it. I usually only watch stuff once so I dont know why its just the point of having it somewhere I think.

 

dont set cce in tfm options to do 4 separate passes! just tick DSROBA and you get [3 fast ones and a real 4th encode...]
