I installed the nagra 2 fix on my dads ex5100 earlier and it worked fine with all channels showing. I gave it to him and for some inexplicable reason he re scanned it (wrongly I assume)and after the scan there were only 10 channels ie. the first 10 channels up to 150 Mhtz or Tp 001. All the other spaces where the other channels/frequencys usually occupy (TP 002 to TP 013) were blank. He reset it to factory default and rescanned a couple of times without success. He then fiddled around with other settings (he cant remember which ones though) and now when you go into User Installation there are no channels whatsoever, not even TP 001. If anyone has any ideas of how to resolve this problem I'd be extremely grateful! Thanks in advance.
I presume you are in Dublin? Use the CDF here http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-59/2_problems_with_ex5000_since_n2_fix-787045/#4765471 and it should sort out the problem.
Apologies for asking this but i cant seem to find the info anywhere on the forum but how do i go about putting the CDF file onto the box?
Apologies I went off to bed I seen your other thread here http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f-59/how_do_i_put_a_cdf_file_on_ex5100-787242/ but will stick with this one. Use the Dnupman UFL, (combined firmware/loader you currently have). Open it, then click browse, select the location of the CDF on your PC. With the EV connected to the PC, and CDF selected, press upload. Takes a few seconds. Thats it
I've put Scouser's CDF file on a EX5100 but after the box reboots it automatically takes me into the "fast install" menu. If I exit out it just tells me "no channels"!! I've put CDF files on hundreds of boxes but never seen this before! PS I use Voxer to apply the CDF file, Any ideas?
In addition, if I do a full scan I get all 13 TP's and all channels - but the majority show as "scrambled channel" I've now tried loading the CDF file via DNUPman with exactly the same result!
Any idea why I'm having being taken to the "fast install" menu after loading the CDF, and why it shows "no channels" if I exit out of it? PS - thanks for the speedy reply!
I did a factory default again just now to be sure. Loaded the CDF, the box rebooted and takes me straight into the "fast install" menu. If I exit out it says "no channels" if I continue the install I overwrite the CDF - the phrase "rock and a hard place" comes to mind!
Strange one? It will go straight to the fast install menu after a factory reset. If it has successfully taken the CDF just power down the box from the back switch and then power it up and see if it by passes the fast install menu. It looks like it isnt taking the CDF. It is also specifically for the N** Dublin area are you in Dublin? All I can say is if its still not working, try a reflash and manually scan from 290.00 to 420.00 on 6887. You will need to then also manually add the 150.00 TP to your frequency list. Then update channels on all frequencies and then sort all your channels as the autosort function doesnt work that well in Ireland. I made the CDF to help people and not have them go through all that as it is quite time consuming, even if you use voxer.
I normally use a CDF that I made myself but It's well out of date now. When the box reboots (straight after downloading the CDF) it restarts to the "fast install" menu. If I exit back one step I can see all the frequencies but If I exit further I lose everything. My signal is woeful at the moment and I'm not finding all transponders. If I was I'd just make a CDF myself - I have a few boxes here - leftovers from before Nag 2 - so I'll try another unit - ta for the help!
Problem solved! Seems I got a bad-download of your CDF. Wonfered why it was 1Kb when my own CDF's were 6Kb. With the extension .cdf voxer still thought it was a valid file - all flying now - thanks indded for your input and assistance - be lucky!! Peter
