well basically somebody told me about these freeview boxes that could be flashed so your able to view all sky, virgin channels etc. now the person i know who is doing it wants me to buy the box then wants to charge me £20 but flashing isnt hard i mean i have flashed alot of things befor. i want a hd picture and recording facilities so i'm gonna go with the Eurovox EX7000 HD. now what exactly do i have to do or download to flash it and is it worth it paying the £20 to this guy ? cheers
Hi, I just got the EX7000 HD+ last week, and after reading all the threads on here, I downloaded the latest firmware which is in .rar format. I used winrar to unzip it, and this gave me the .tbn file which I put onto blank USB and plugged into box. I turned box off and on and it didn't auto update so I went into menu/data transfer and downloaded the file from the USB to the Box. I then did a deep scan and it picked up all of the channels. EPG came through a few minutes after I'd scanned/saved them all. I'm busy manually moving channels into order, and deleting duplicates, then I'll check out how good (or not) the HD is. Haven't found SS or Movies in HD yet but will keep looking.
Don't waste your time looking for movies and sports in hd. VM doesn't carry them. The value of a cable hd box is very limited at the moment.
LOL, No, will take you less than a minute to flash yourself, and the beauty of usb boxes is you just put the firmware on a usb stick and click update
