Hi, I bought a Eurovox EX1000SL and set it all up, however I'm notgetting many channels (about 150 are showing up, but they're still scrambled and are largely unwatchable.) As of right now I have hardly any channels, including no sports or films (although I have attheraces but again it's scrambled). I've tried several different cdf files and the best I managed was to get setanta and sky sports x but I haven't managed to get sky sports 1 2 3 etc. and again, when trying to view these they were still scrambled (although not as bad as it is now). I'm in Bolton and from what I've read it's not the best area for sky sports, however if I have to do without them I could live without them, I'd just like to get most other channels and be able to watch them clearly. Any ideas? P.S I can't guarentee that what I am doing is 100% correct when updating channels so I will post some pictures if it will help later on.
Sorry, got it. I was trying another scan (got to 600 but didn't find any that time) anyway here it is (belatedly!)
It needs flashing, Follow the eurovox guide at the bottom of my post, when its flashed the s/w ver should read 28th Oct.
I've tried that software before (I know i'm using an older one) either way, what's the next step after doing that?
As said flash it first, you wont get any of the other channels until you have done what I say, once you have flashed it you have to do a factory default and a power-scan on your symbol rate, everything is in the guide I linked you to.
Ok the software now says october and these are the settings I used and I am now scanning, everything should now work, right?
No, Factory default first. Start 100.00 stop 850.00 sym rate 6887 sym rate 0000 sym rate 0000 sym rate 0000 step to 8
ok i did factory default first too (sorry for not mentioning it) will go scan with the new settings now.
Make sure the cable feed is plugged into the RF in and not the ANT socket at the back of the box then do another factory default apower-scan again using the same settings.
Still nothing :S Here's a video of my process, maybe that will help http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v334/subliminal40_311/?action=view¤t=MOV00288.flv
Appreciated Des mate Your signal strength is jumping around all over the place, it should be steady but it apears to be jumping from 60 to 90 %. Have you got any splitters inline if yes remove them factory default and power-scan, check all your connections are nice and tight, have you tried your subbed box to see if thats working ok.
I just ran another scan and it's still not showing any channels. I took of the cover and checked that the wire was connected properly and it is. My internet is working (obviously!) and that's running from the same main feed (split). Any other ideas?
just in time witht he post! i'll check the other connections again and will try it with a direct feed, but subbed box? what's that? I was getting some channels yesterday though so maybe i've knocked it loose (doesn't seem like i have) or I've jsut cocked it up completely I don't know!
Subbed box = the receiver that is provided by VM. Your doing everything correct apart from the the signal being bad. You say you are in Bolton and it is 6887 for that area so you should be ok once the signal is sorted.
