Why is it that on every torrent site most files that are available for dl are avi files ???? I mean can't they just put them into dvd format so I don't have to be frustrated like I am right now after burning movies and not having the sound work on them when played in the dvd player. Please can people do the work for us who aren't as lucky or have forgotten how to do this properly. I used to do this no problem but now after being away from burning and such for like 6 months I am an idiot.

well if you read the torrent description it will say dvd rip or whatnot. You just have to read it. I can get dvd rip or avi. i like avi because it is a smaller file. And if i wanna watch it i burn it with Nero Vision Express which convertes it to mpeg2 so my ps2 will read it.

I second that Nero vision Express will convert it to MPEG-2.Use the search tab at the top, there is a great guide to walk you threw the process if you dont know how to use Nero Vision Express.

Yeah .avi files are popular mostly becuase they give good quality plus are much smaller than leaving them in the .vob format which can be sometimes 3 times bigger... you can also convert them yourself fairly easily (another reason why they popular:easy to work with)
