Hey guys, quick question regarding the Evo X dashboard.. I'm following some intructions here http://www.geocities.com/daseamonkey420/installevox.html and I understand it all, except for the mod chip. If I have evo x dashboard installed, put a game into my xbox, ftp the game back to my pc and the use xISO to make an image and burn to dvd-r, do I still need a modchip to play the game, or does evo x dashboard allow me to get around that. Thanks!
yes you will need a chip to play the backups. also, i recommend to you use craxtion for making the ISO, xISO gives people alot of problems and you might end up thinking there is something else wrong when actually it's xISO giving you the headaches. craxtion also has a nice little xbe patcher in it. it also allows you to make multigame discs, which is very nice because alot of games are just over 1gb so you can put more than 1 on a dvd-r and it makes a nice menu for you that you can customize. do a search on here for craxtion and you should find my post with the link of where to get it.
You can't install evox without a modchip. i got the Xecuter 2.1 and it wasn't that hard to solder. and i have never soldered before. it took me around 30 mins to take xbox apart and everything. i got chip from kanection.co.uk. also if you fusk up it comes with the prongs for a different way of hooking it up.. $50 USD i probably got ripped. but it's worth it to have the "best" modchip with most features.
