ok, i have a matrix modchip in my xbox. it works and has the evox6.blue bios flashed on it. im having problems with evolutionx dash though. i just cant get my xbox to load the burned cd with the iso file. my buning software is veritas recordnow, i have evolutionx dash ver. 3752. I've read all the faqs at xbox-scene and at seamonkeys site. does anyone have any tips for me? any help is much appreciated. -thanks
i think what my problem is that i dont have all the files i nedd when i make the iso. i use xiso and the files i include are .ini file and the evoxdash.xbe file. do i need anything else?
use slayers auto installer, you can boot from the cd and it can install about anything you could need all automatically. get it here - http://www.biteable.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Slayers.htm
Don't use slayers auto-installer and don't do like that guy and break the forum rules by posting links to illegal material. Slayer's sucks. Have you tried renaming it to default.xbe? Maybe your media sucks. Try Memorex 4x CD-RWs. Have you tried using a fluff file(any random file to make the .iso bigger so the xbox can read it)? If you have a Thomson your best bet is to use Memorex with a fluff file. You should also ditch the evox6 bios for the far superior x2 bios.
why not use slayers and why is it illegal? I've seen that same link posted here a hundred times. I know the forum rules, notice how it says "member" under my name!_X_X_X_X_X_[small]Darthnip Too bad you can't buy a voodoo globe so that you could make the earth spin real fast and freak everybody out. i'll try that autoinstaller. and Drew, i am using memorex 4x cd-rw by the way. hopefully i'll get everything working before xbox2 comes out- lol -thanks Dartnip
i just tried downloading the autoinstaller, and its a no go. you see i have a slow 56k connection and it would take around 6 hrs. to download. oh well, hopefully i'll figure out what im doing wrong.
I just don't like the way he sets things up so I don't like to recommend it. That's just my opinion. I get the impression there aren't many moderators in this forum because that link does break the rules and I see it all the time. Once in a while a moderator will catch it, erase it and warn whoever posted it. It is illegal because at least half the stuff in there potentially breaks copyright or other laws. And, I do see member under your name! I've been in this forum for at least a couple weeks longer than the xecuter forum and I have been beyond member status forever in the xecuter forum. So, as far as I'm concerned I'm a member as well.
yeah the mods around here are real busy it seems. if that link does break the rules (which i dont think it does), i'll gladly edit my post. but i've been here for months and i've never seen one post edited because of it. i've brought this thread to Dex's attention so if he says it needs to be edited, no problem, but until then, it stays. slayers worked great for me. actually solved a few issues i was having. so it could helpful to someone having trouble. If you dont care for it, that's just your opinion, which is fine, everyone likes different stuff. but it might help this guy out. i just think you worded that wrong, it's your opinion that slayers sucks, thats all, but it just might be exactly what this guy is needing. maybe you could say 'i think slayers sucks because...." then the guy would have some info on the experience you had and can base what he wants from that. but just saying it sucks doesn't really help. There's no need for a heated discussion about this, we just have a difference of opinion on something, which is good because it gives the forum users more info to gather from. whether it's against the rules to post it or not will be decided by the mods, and if it is i'll gladly edit it.
Certain things are not allowed here like game download links or sites that sell them, etc. But when it comes to software that you put on a Xbox that helps enable you to legally backup your own software or put a media player on the Xbox (and items like that) are allowed here. Because it is additional software in conjunction with a modchip. Just don't confuse what I said with something like a Gameshark download because then that is crossing the line.
