Hello, 2 Years ago I had my xbox 1.6 moded. I have the Aladin Advance in it, with a 120 Gig hd, Yesterday the power button went Orange and then turned off. I tried to turn it back on but I always get the EvoX Xbox boot screen which always appear but then it never goes to any dashboard, it just sits there. I have opened the xbox and the chip is fine, no broken connection. I hear the hd start up and It it connected correctly. What is wrong? what is the boot sequence, Any help.... Thanks. Someone desperatly looking for an answer.

I would try the fan idea first..just open your box and use a fan from a PC (80mm). You don't need to put it right into the case to test it...just plug it into where the xbox fan went and then hook everything back up and boot it up. If it boots properly then that's prolly the problem.

Now if that was your problem, you could either find/buy an xbox replacment fan off ebay or something...or look on xbox-scene in their tutorials section on how to install an 80mm fan.

If you xbox shutdown after playing for awhile, then most likely it IS a fan issue. The xbox will shut down at about 72 degrees celcius as a safety feature against overheating. If your box booted up after sitting for awhile to cool, then this is definatly the problem.

Rule of thumb in problem solving-test the problem with the cheapest/easiest sollution first. And with any problem, find the control and then everything else is a variable.
