I have Pioneer 107d flashed with 1,17 firmware. Using a generic external box for either HDD or PC DVD etc. Used no probs on HP Omnibook xe2 with pcmcia usb 2 (with nero aspi), Win 2k. On Dell Inspiron 8500, Win XP home with latest win updates, recognition errors cause Win fatality at reboot, must revert to old config. shows up in found new hardware as mass storage device (this is ok in the HP) but nothing at all in win explorer or discinfo. Have no Clues what is the exact driver for manual install etc or ???, thanks for the help.
[bold]my Pioneer 1.07D is housed in an external unit, and it's currently on a firewire port along with me Sony 510 drx-ul To update the sony drive I have to temporaraly connect it to the USB socket, both externals can do this [/bold] I almost forgot the sony drive can be used with the Mac as well!
