express problem

I c/k my b/u's with dvdrescue and they all have bad sectors some of these play ok but others don't. Some of these play one time and not another. All seem to play well in my pc dvd drive.
system specs.
atlon 2400xp
sony oem dw-u18a 8x burner
512 ddr
40 g hd
windows xp

All firmware is updated and got express w/ platnium 3.2.1.0
problem seems to be constent with express and advance Thank you
I had a skipp and freeze problem with gothika and made new copy this time with dvd shrink it seems to play fine on apex dvd home player. But still reads bad with dvd rescue

it sounds to me like cheap media,try ritek go4 or verbatim.
what kind are you using?

fuji dvd +r 4x, some of the back ups work..

 

fuji's are on the list of the (not so good) media
your problems are classic signs of cheap media(some work some dont)
ive got a whole bushel basket of tdk's i'll sell ya,lol(also not good media)but i didnt find that out till i found this site.
the fact that you say some do work tells me nothing is wrong with what your doing so ......
