Extending speaker cable

I have recently bought the following home cinema system

I have it set up but the cable of the rear cables dont reach where I need them to be.

Can someone help and point me in the right direction to how and what I need to buy to extend them. I am a total novice and not got a clue what I am looking for.

I would get rid of cable that came with the unit and go out and buy a spool of speaker wire 50ft should be enough they are spring loaded connections on the unit so you should have no problem replacing the rear speaker wires

 

Also try and get the biggest gauge cable your connectors will except.
16-14 gauge is a fairly good size speaker cable.
