Hey my DVD burner/player on my desktop has unfortunately stopped working so i am going to get an external one. I was hoping someone could recommend a good external DVD burner and if there is one a burner/player combo. Thanks in advance
I bought one of these Liteon external drives at a big box store two summers ago so I could rescue a friend's files from his failing PC. This drive works great for both burning and playing. If you have your mind set on an external drive I'd go with this one. I paid $90.00 two years ago. Now $40.00. Hey that one looks good but it does not say anything about vista compatibility. Do you know if it would work. Also is it easy to install a dvd burner into my PC or is it too risky?
Yes it will work with Vista. Very little risk if you follow the instructions that come packaged with every drive. Also, you can google "install internal DVD drive" and find dozens of sites all telling you basically the same thing. Many with video instructions. I bought this last summer.
